John got radically saved when he was 34 and God instantly turned great hatred into great love. He and his wife have worked with hard-core young people and have had 58 foster children in their home over the years.
John and Evelyn have 3 natural children and 1 adopted Russian daughter. They have been Pastor’s to 4 churches and now serve as Evangelist with a ministry to help hurting families and children; a ministry of restoration and reconciliation for the hurting.
John was greatly impacted by a mission’s trip to Poland in 1984 and later on missions trips to Russia. New Hope Outreach Ministries grew out of seeing the great needs in the Eastern block countries. NHOM brings the Gospel of Jesus Christ to orphans and windows where the needs are often desperate; Russia, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and Ukraine. They also provide Bibles, medicines, vitamins, toys, clothes and love to the children they minster to.
John and Evelyn feel very blessed by God’s grace in the privilege to touch the lives of so many children and widows in need.

We are so excited about upcoming events. We are awaiting final decision on NGO Non-Government Organization) status from the Ethiopian Government that should be here any day. We want to thank the DeTray family for providing funds to build a well on our property for our orphanage. We want to thank Valley Christian Center in Lewiston, ID for their financial gift to be able to build our orphanage building. It will be so wonderful to finally have a place for our orphans to actually call home. We have great, loving caretakers who watch over and teach the 12 children we now have.
